Building Tiger Nation Finance Committee Meeting (January 17, 2019)
Building Tiger Nation Finance Committee examines funding options for facility master plan
The Building Tiger Nation Finance Committee met on January 17 to discuss various hypothetical financing options available to school districts for funding facility master plans. The meeting was the fourth in a series to provide information to the community regarding school finance.
“We had a great conversation about the financing options that are typically available to school districts to fund master plans, including bonds, Certificates of Participation (COPs), Tax Anticipation Notes (TANs) and cash,” said Kevin Hawley, Loveland City School District treasurer and CFO. “The committee’s work will now shift gears as it starts focusing on a funding recommendation specifically for a Loveland master plan that includes the most beneficial combination of these financing instruments.”
The Finance Committee has been meeting monthly since mid-October, and is scheduled to meet again on February 4* and 21. All meetings are open to the public.
*Please note that the meeting on February 4 has been added to the regular monthly Finance Committee calendar.
